WordPress seems fine but it's a real nightmare for PHP developers!!
Homemade code is definitely easier to maintain when you create your own classes, CSS files, and content.
I know many people who use WP to build websites from scratch really quickly because they're familiar with the tool and plugins.
Give me a week or two and you'll see exactly what I'm capable of creating..
